Critical composition is an explanation of visual structure through techniques such as diagramming, to represent ways in which certain visual elements have been arranged within a composition. It is the analysis of what the viewer can directly observe. It is an approximate abstraction that strives to interpret the composition without changing the original structure.
The plan is the generator that holds the order and willfulness of an architecture. The plan reveals the mass and surface with a sense of geometrical balance and beauty, which brings satisfaction and pleasure to people’s eyes. The plan is able to initiate and produce newer ideas.
Symmetry, while provides economical efficiencies, brings a sense of visual satisfaction to visual perception and aesthetics. Arranged similarly or identically on opposing sides of an axis, symmetry creates center, balance and stability for the overall structure and composition.
